BIO
I'm Michael, a Creative Director with over a decade of experience shaping how brands present themselves to the world. I've led brand identity, motion, campaign, and experiential work across every scale.
I'm currently Group Creative Director for Brand at Canva, where I've spent six years growing the Brand Studio. My approach is collaborative to the core: I believe the best brand work happens when copy, motion, and design come together into something that feels inevitable.
I've made things, big and small. I've helped produce a rap performance that was so unashamedly Canva it broke the internet. I've branded a bus that drove across America, bringing Canva to new communities. I've designed sets, logos, murals, hype reels, badges, stickers, motion systems, product demos, fake brands, social posts, typefaces, and written at least one poem directly to a CEO.
From concept through launch I bring together teams into one coherent creative vision. Some of my work has been recognised with Cannes Lions Gold, D&AD Pencils, Transform Awards, Webbys, and Good Design Awards — including work on the Sydney Opera House, Canva Create, and beyond.
I find inspiration in pop culture. Brands are my religion. I watch YouTube religiously. I'm a child of the internet. I am a devoted Spotify Unwrapped analyst. I still think about Beychella, BRAT green and Ariana's high ponytail daily.
